9:21monologue
9:25Americans
9:26fairly high value on time
9:29people off and eat breakfast while driving to work
9:34midday naps during the week are usually only for retired people
9:39people expect appointments to be kept
9:43they expect plenty of notice about upcoming demands on their time
9:48being late for making changes with little notice is acceptable but some
9:52explanation is normally expected
9:56many americans have begun to realize that this concern with time creates
10:01stress
10:02however this realization does little to change most people's habits
10:07in general americans believe in the same that time is money
10:13when time is lost the belief is that money is also lost
10:18both time and money are often very important in america

Ví dụ: cấu trúc “to get caught in the rain” – bị mắc mưa

I got caught in the rain last night.
Tối hôm qua tôi bị mắc mưa.

I don’t like getting caught in the rain.
Tôi không thích bị mắc mưa.

Run quickly or you’ll get caught in rain.

A: No, I tried to sleep at 11 p.m.!
B: And you couldn't fall asleep?
A: No. I lay in bed until 3 a.m.
B: Isn't that the time you usually fall asleep?
A: I suppose it is, actually.
B: Your body is too used to going to sleep really late.
A: What should I do? I'm tired.
B: Try to tire yourself out and sleep early today.
A: Tonight is the season finale, though…
B: You're hopeless!

2.
A: How many cups of coffee have you had today?!
B: I don't know, three, maybe?
A: Don't you think that's a little too much?
B: No way! Coffee is good for you.
A: Too much of anything is bad for you!
B: What about water?
A: Sure! People drown all the time.
B: Well, I'd happily drown in coffee.

A: Good. What really happened?
B: I got hurt during my ninja training.
